The Game of Life
Whatever you do, don’t stop.
I’m not sure when I first had this idea, but if there is one lesson I could imbue every man and every woman with, it would be this.
Rules of The Game
The Game has only one rule for men and only one rule for women.
Men: you will be starved of attention from women for such a long time that it will make you want to make bad decisions. If you let this corrupt your character into being depressed and hopeless such that you give up on further building your life, you lose The Game.
Women: you will receive so much attention from men that you will be disillusioned by them, and you will be victimised by the evil of the world. If you let this corrupt your character into being entitled, arrogant, embittered, jaded, mistrustful, and hardened, and lose the playful, kind softness you were born with, you lose The Game.
You win The Game when you find one of the most compatible people you could marry, without having lost The Game before that point, and living happily ever after.
Why are these the rules? Because every man is guaranteed to reach the point of desperation before he meets his wife, where he can decide whether to have faith or to sabotage himself into never finding her and settling for nobody or for the wrong person. And because every woman is guaranteed to reach the point of strain before she meets her husband, where she can decide whether to have faith or to sabotage her eventual marriage with hardened misery.
The Game
Now that we know the rules, how do we play The Game? Here is a diagram of exactly how you play The Game.
